The National Community Reinvestment Coalition is launching its second year of its community development fellowship that matches top-level master’s degree students with premiere community development organizations.
The NCRC Fellowship for Equitable Development cultivates the next generation of community development leaders and empowers them to tackle the issues of tomorrow. The community development sector will face significant challenges in the coming decades from climate change, widening wealth inequality, food insecurities, extreme housing shortages and other needs. These challenges will disproportionately impact low-wealth communities and communities of color. Therefore, it is NCRC’s intention and pledge to uphold the values of community empowerment and racial equity in the fellowship program.
Awards
All students participating in NCRC’s Fellowship for Equitable Development will receive a $20,000 stipend over the course of the fellowship year.
The stipend will be given to the host organization in the form of a grant and the host organization will disburse payments to the fellow directly.
Host organizations have full discretion to determine the type of employment for fellows placed at their organization (i.e. 1099 contractor vs. part time employee).
An award amount of $10,000 will be awarded for the first quarter of the academic year and the second payment will be provided during the Spring quarter of the final term of the fellowship.
